The Johnny Cash song “I Walk the Line” was going through my mind when I took a quick photo of this scene one November day. Pheasants are stocked by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, and this bird was on Route 287 south of Tioga, not far from where they are released. There were two males on the road that quickly disappeared when a car came from the other direction. Off they went. But not before I captured this frame of one of them walking a very crooked highway paint line.
