On Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Lewisburg Garden Club will host ‘A Garden Tour of Lewisburg’, created to recognize the many talented gardeners in the area and to provide gardening ideas and inspiration to those who attend the tour. Four of this year’s gardens are located in downtown Lewisburg; the other two are in New Berlin. The garden owners in Lewisburg are: Anne and Bob Murcek, “St. Louis Street Passersby Garden” at 103 S. Front Street; April Fairweather, “The Garden of Weedin’” at 27 S. Water Street; Bernadine Richard, “The Richard Garden”, 31 S. Front Street; and The Copper Beech Manor B & B, (Linda and Bill Petry) “The Tranquil Garden” at 17 Market Street. The gardens in New Berlin are those of Kathy Frey and Paul Yakubick, “Rustic Country Garden” at 200 Laura Lane and Nancy and John Showers, “The Potted Garden” at 317 Vine Street.  The gardens are open to visitors beginning at 10 a.m. and may be toured in any order. 

Artists and artisans, displaying and selling their work, will be stationed at each garden. The artists at the Lewisburg gardens include: Patty Tweardy, Out of Your Gourd; Rebecca Mohr, Mohr Designs; landscape painter Gail Fox and Jane Albin, watercolor artist. The New Berlin artists are Angela Mowery, Creation Clay pottery, and landscape painter Valerie Moyer, 

Tickets for the event, at $10 each, are on sale at the Purple Platypus at 335 Market Street, Lewisburg, The Mercantile at 319 Market Street, Lewisburg, and Reiff’s Greenhouse in Vicksburg. Tickets will also be available at all gardens on the day of the tour. Directions to each garden are printed on the back of the tickets.

Lewisburg Garden Club members will be present throughout the day to guide visitors through the gardens and to answer questions. Light refreshments will be served at each site.
