6th Annual Plein Air Event

Artists are invited to gather at Linn Conservancy protected sites to capture--en plein air--a moment in time

Artists of all ages and skill levels, students included, are invited to participate in the sixth annual Plein Air Event on Sunday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artists will gather at the Dale/Engle/Walker property at 1471 Strawbridge Road, west of Lewisburg, and the Koons Trail property on North Fourth Street in Mifflinburg to create artwork that captures the beauty of these sites. (Plein air art is created outdoors—often in natural settings, rather than in a studio.) Local artist Bobby Gorby will present an optional plein air workshop at the D/E/W House at 9 a.m.; a reception, which is open to all, will be held at the house from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Space for Mr. Gorby’s workshop is limited; email [email protected] to attend the workshop. Visit www.lewisburgartscouncil.com or www.linnconservancy.org for more information. Artwork created during the event will be displayed at The Public Library for Union County during the month of June. The event is sponsored by the Lewisburg Arts Council, the Merrill Linn Conservancy, and the Union County Historical Society.
