Bucknell University purchased the Chillisquaque Creek Natural Area in Montour County several years ago to preserve its pristine qualities and serve as a teaching ground for biology and environmental students. The constructed wetlands, which filters runoff into Chillisquaque Creek, was built on neighboring property owned by Linn Conservancy board member Tom Gibson and his wife Jamie Hendry. On Sunday, April 10, beginning at 1 p.m., Bucknell experts, government agencies that built the wetlands and the Chillisquaque/Limestone Run Watershed Association will lead a hike on the trails around the preserve and then move on to the wetlands. The Gibson-Hendry property is located at 2820 Mexico Road, Milton. The Natural Area is a few hundreds yards east on the right.
