The Roasters: Already fans of the rich, robust taste of fine coffee, Gail and Doug, after living fast-paced careers the past twenty years, wanted to start their own coffee-roasting business in their hometown. They started planning about four years ago, after they were “stuck” in Paris for the weekend and decided to visit every café possible and gather ideas for their dream shop, which began as a roaster out of their home. They went on to attract wholesale and retail clients. Doug has since gone to several roaster conferences around the world to learn how to perfect the flavor intensities from the coffee seed to the roasted product. Their new shop is a two-story building decorated in trendy coffee-bean burlap bags, artwork, and plants that gives it a homey atmosphere.
The Shop: You can swing by the drive-through or stop in to relax, do a puzzle, or surf the Net. Gift certificates or baskets filled with goodies are available. For a party or meeting, you can reserve the coffee shop exclusively for your group after regular hours. You can also host an “open bar” at the espresso bar for your Christmas party or wedding reception. |
